My background and experience prepared me to serve as an effective advocate for our students, teachers, and parents. I am familiar with the evaluation processes for teachers, principals, and superintendents, and intend to hold those in positions of responsibility accountable for their performance.
I know how to build relationships, and appreciate the need to bring the community together in support of our public schools. Education has been my passion and source of fulfillment for nearly two decades. I want to put that passion to work for the good of the community I love.
The most important issues to focus on in our schools are:
Having attended board meetings since January, I do not see any improvement on these issues. It is critical we remedy these issues, because every student that leaves Vallejo takes state funding with them.
Set Parameters for Fair Negotiations for Educators and Staff
We can’t expect to recruit and retain a motivated team of professional educators when the District has fallen so far behind neighboring communities in compensation. Our teachers deserve reasonable negotiated contracts that will allow us to attract and keep some of the best and brightest. We need fair and reasonable contract agreements with our teachers and staff.
As an educator and trained administrator, I understand the evaluation processes for teachers, administrators, and superintendents. I believe a strong School Board sets rigorous expectations for accountability and transparency while maintaining campus safety and setting an overall respectful tone throughout our school system.
